Marubeni accelerates internal grain export processes with i-ERP EME4, Datainfo product.
Scenario
Brazil is the world's largest producer and exporter of soy and Marubeni Grãos Brasil is an important player in this market, sending tons of grain to the international market. For Marubeni to be successful, it is necessary to have a strict control of the processes, from the reception of the grains in the warehouses to the rail and road transhipment, which delivers the cargo at the customs terminal for export. For this, Marubeni counts on the i-ERP EME4 system from Datainfo,, a technology company specialized in digital transformation,, which, with an innovative vision, automated the entire operation of the client.
Project
Marubeni sought Datainfo expertise in technology outsourcing to customize the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning or integrated management system), transforming a complex process into automated controls, facilitating the delivery of tax and accounting obligations, storage management (inventory) and financial management of grain contracts, thus allowing the operation to grow without the need to increase the number of people, taking advantage of the team in more strategic activities for the business.
The focus was to streamline the control and process of the entire operation, allowing the company's growth in volume and maintaining a lean team, with end-to-end control, from receipt, entry of invoice keys to the issuance of the Single Export Declaration (DU-E), the document required for export. And all this needs to be done within a specified period, in compliance with tax legislation, under penalty of paying taxes and fines if the invoice is exported after the deadline.
Results
This was the challenge that Marubeni was able to overcome with i-ERP EME4, according to Patrícia Santos, Controller of Marubeni Grãos Brasil. “The entire tax, accounting and inventory control part was automated. If before a manual process took 30 minutes to issue a single invoice in one of our processes, today the same process is done in less time, using the software to issue invoices for the entire month, which allows the area to tax operates with the same team, growing in volume and logistical flow”.
In addition i-ERP EME4 , controls the entire contract process, all balances of invoices for export, making tax adjustments in the complement and return process, gains and losses in transshipment, with automatic issuance of invoices and sending of automatic e-mail to the supplier, as well as other management processes and reports.
“We work with several transshipments, warehouses and terminals. We have several wagon loadings taking place at the same time, the automation brought by i-ERP EME4 allowed a flow of independence with the transshipments, operating 24/7, without the need for employees available for these operations, allowing the execution to take place in each location , depending on the available transhipment flow, as well as unloading arriving at the customs terminal for boarding ships,” explains Patrícia.
i-ERP EME4 Differencials
i-ERP EME4 is a complete management software that connects all areas and routines of companies from different segments such as retail, industry, services and distributors. Each i-ERP EME4 module is designed for the reality of different segments, and can be customized for any area. Among the modules are accounting, sales, CRM, tax, finance, store front, HR management and many others. Advantages that Patrícia Santos perceives in her day to day using the system.
“We have a tax system that is prepared for integration with other areas, such as Logistics and Commercial. We are able to control exactly what we have in stock, in transit, in each warehouse and in the terminal on a daily basis. And this with a lean operation, with control, without losing the invoice deadline for export purposes”, adds the Marubeni Controller.
The advantage of i-ERP EME4 being a Brazilian software was also highlighted, being able to directly meet the tax and fiscal particularities of Brazil, without the need for major adaptations that imported software needs to go through, which can still suffer exchange rate variations in its monthly maintenance , depends on contracts and lacks agility in service and immediate solutions with programmers.
“We are delighted to accelerate Marubeni's business with our technology. With great importance in the global grain market, the automation that i-ERP EME4 EME4 provided is essential to transform the business and create a competitive advantage”, declares Márcio Gonçalves, CEO of Datainfo. “We are already a company recognized for the outsourcing of technology services and support for the digital transformation of businesses. We want the market to have the same look at the products that make up our portfolio".
